On Thursday, October 24, 2024, Kirinyaga University’s Microsoft Learn Student Ambassadors were honored at the Annual Unite Ceremony, held at the Microsoft Africa Development Centre (ADC) in Nairobi. This event, which brings together Microsoft Learn Student Ambassadors from universities across Kenya and Africa, serves as a celebration of student accomplishments and the positive impact of technology-driven initiatives in universities.
Microsoft ADC through Ecosystems team is committed to advancing student engagement through campus tours and Microsoft Learn Student Ambassadors, faculty skilling and curriculum review.
The ceremony featured esteemed keynote speakers, including Catherine Muraga, Managing Director of the Microsoft ADC; Irene Githinji, Ecosystem Lead at the ADC; Shadrack Kiprotich, a Microsoft Most Valuable Professional; and Pablo Veramendi, Global Director of Microsoft Learn Student Ambassadors.
Kirinyaga University received the Most Vibrant Chapter Award in Kenya for its outstanding initiatives over the past year. The university was recognized for a variety of events hosted by the Computer Society of Kirinyaga, including Azure Day, the JavaScript Series, .NET Conf, Hack Night, and the C# .NET Series. Irene Githinji presented the award, celebrating the university’s contributions to fostering a thriving learning community.
Additionally, Pablo Veramendi acknowledged Kirinyaga University as the Kenyan institution with the highest number of Microsoft Learn Student Ambassadors. On behalf of the entire KyU fraternity, the Office of the Vice Chancellor and that of the Deputy Vice Chancellor ARSA congratulate Computer Society of Kirinyaga University team for this great achievement.
